HP Reverb G2 VR Headset Review!
We test and review the final shipping production model of HP’s Reverb G2 virtual reality headset, which has some meaningful improvements over the pre-production prototype we used this past summer. Here’s how its high-resolution panels impacts VR experiences, where the headset comes short, and how it compares with the Valve Index and Oculus Quest 2 for tethered PC VR gaming.

Thank you very much for this review. The options for high-end VR have become complicated at the moment. I’m hoping to see some developments in the next months, because right now it’s a hard decision to make for people who want to upgrade (for example their original Rift).
I’m also VERY interested in this product, especially for Flight Simulator 2020. My big concern is the PD adjustment. I have a PD of 72 and the G2 has a max of 68. I understand that PD can be off by 2 points or so and still be usable but yikes, 4 points? Any thoughts?
I have a PD of 71.5 and all is fine with the G2. There are 3D printed caskets that give you better FOV now. Works great. However, before buying the G2 look at the discord and reddit discussions. A lot of USB problems some MBs particular newer ones and AMD won’t work (yet?). Some use old 3.0 usb hubs to get it to work. It took me three weeks to get it to work somewhat. Still sudden blackouts. Also a lot of things that need to play together: windows mixed reality portal, windows mixed reality for steam, steam VR, OpenXR for windows mixed reailty, Revive etc. MS flight sim is great but only runs at 45-50 fps and so is squadron even on a 3090.
