Hands-On with Google Stadia and Technology Deep Dive!

We go hands-on with Google’s upcoming Stadia cloud gaming service, which is launching next month! The impressive demo at Google’s headquarters represents the best-case scenario for streaming quality and latency, and we sit down with Stadia’s VPs of product and engineering to dive into video compression and other technologies that will make Stadia work around the world.

  1. I’m impressed about how freely you can talk us through your impressions at the end without any cut. You’re a real professional!

  2. Just watched the whole thing. Great deep dive!

I read the Ars Technica article a few weeks back re: rollback netcode, really helped to understand some of the underlying bits and pieces.

Looking forward to seeing if Stadia can perform (RDR2 at 4K is what I’m most excited about)

  3. I’ve got my order in for the Founders pack. I’m interested to see how this, and Microsoft’s xCloud fair. Of course, I put zero long term faith into Stadia. But I think this will at least be mildly amusing to use given the fact that Destiny 2 is cross save now.
