Episode 102 – This is Only a Test – 01/11/2012

On this evening’s show, Gary makes a brief appearance, Norm whips out a ball peen hammer, and Will is speechless. All that, plus Toshiba’s 4k TV, Sharp’s 8K TV, Lenovo’s SmartTV, and Samsung’s TV window on another action-packed edition of This is Only a Test.

  1. ZeroSkull just replied to your comment:

looks like your average $450 laptop, and if its just for watching steaming stuff like hulu the integrated graphics should be fine. And it will definitely do the stuff you need it to better than a netbook, im running Hulu Desktop on my netbook with 1gb of RAM right now and its painfully slow, the 3 or 4 gbs of RAM in that laptop helps.

Really the only reason to go for a net book is if you need a cheap, small, and very portable computer. I have a pretty nice desktop that i do most of my stuff on, but my netbook is nice just to carry around to class to take notes, email, and surf the internets.

So the laptop looks like a nice buy, but you might want to surf around best buy or newegg to see if you can some value for your money.

  2. I watched this on justin.tv’s archive which doesn’t have the audio problem but I just have to say that Adam was a fantastic guest. You guys really should try to put him on the podcast more often if you can.

  3. I got Otterboxes for my wife and kids. I put Defenders on an iPhone and an iPad, and lesser cases on two iPod Touches. Best money I ever spent. No cases on mine of course.

  4. Gary’s obviously too important to sit and hang with us, LOL. Hey Tested dudes, how about changing the space bar shortcut for ‘scroll down’ to ‘pause playback’, can’t tell you how many times that catches me out!

  5. Pretty good show. It only just occurred to me how much better the quality and set up for these shows are compared to what Giantbomb does for E3. Don’t get me wrong I really like the GB E3 shows it’s just this looks much better in terms of set up, like I can clearly see everybody and it’s well light.

  6. Read webpages? My transformer is better/faster than my girlfriends ipad.

Email/Twitter? Both are fine basically the same.

Video? Ipad looks slightly better than my transformer but my transformer has flash and way better file system/types of video

    Games? – Definitely Ipad.

So again stop dismissing android tablets nonstop just because there are some shit ones out there, for a group that seems so smart it’s ridiculous how you act when it comes to android.
