Hands-On with Livestream Movi 4K Camera

One really interesting product we demoed at CES is the Livestream Movi, a 4K camera that lets you live mix and edit the scene while you record or stream the video live. The associated app impressed us with its ability to generate digital crops, pans, and zooms from the 4K video, as if we were using a dedicated video mixer.

  1. I would be super crazy about this thing, but the just livestream.com service streaming seems like a big blocker for this really really cool piece of tech. Oh well.

  2. So you pay $399 for the camera and then still have to pay at least $9 a month to be able to use it because it is vendor locked? Cool tech, but no thanks.

  3. I didn’t get the impression it was locked. Only that there was a discounted optional streaming service available.
