MythBusters’ Rocket Car Rockets!

For Adam, these stacks of spent rockets from JATO Rocket Car 1 and 3 exemplify the entire HISTORY of MythBusters. Here’s why, along with insight into how it felt filming such an expensive, dangerous episode as the PILOT, especially since … well, you know how the episode(s) turned out.

Sign up to bid on these (both signed by Adam!) and other lots, benefitting the Grant Imahara STEAM Foundation.

NOTE: There will be no reserve prices set, in an effort to ensure that as many fans as possible have an opportunity to own a piece of their favorite show.

  1. My uncle R. C. Holub piloted the first rocket-assisted take-off of a B-17 Flying Fortress (possibly the first to be successful for any plane), from a pasture in Nuthampstead England on March 30, 1945. They used twelve 5″ British Navy rockets, fired manually by the Flight Engineer R. L. Kirkpatrick in six successive pairs. 450 feet of steel matting was laid on the field, and it took eight seconds, 385 feet for lift-off, clearing the trees at the end of the pasture.
