PREMIUM – Ask Adam Anything: Being Starstruck
Every week, Adam takes a question from the Tested Premium Member community in the comments section below or on social media (tagged #AskAdamSavage) and answers here. This week, Adam talks about his experience collaborating with Weta and Peter Jackson in our recent short film project, and why he still gets starstruck.

At the 1:04 mark that creature on the couch started to move. Super creepy!
What’s the story on how you (and originally Jamie) got involved with tested.com?
Question: What do you think in hindsight about that old catchphrase of yours, “I reject your reality and substitute my own”, now that we see it actually happening? Also, what would be your catchphrase today?
Oh, I know star struck. I work with semi-famous people on a semi-regular basis, but when I met you at Brain Candy in Perth this year I totally locked up into “Standard Mumble Mode”. Which was a shame, as I did want to actually have a longer chat than the 15 seconds that I got.
Next time 🙂
How would you make a diorama scenery to go on the outside of a window with a bad view?
I know a poster would work, but I was thinking about how it might work in a set, so there’s light coming through in the right places and a little parallax in the objects, etc., but maybe there’s only room for 8″ so you can’t just do full scale stuff obstructing most of the view.
How should you deal with coworkers who try to make up for lack of skill, knowledge and effort by being loud and acting very confident?
What’s the best way that you’ve found to interact with famous people that you might see in public (not at a convention or something similar). I don’t want to interrupt their day or whatever they’re doing, but I also don’t want to miss out on a chance to meet them.
I think that is a great question….. and i don’t think “Leave them alone” is the right answer ha ha.
On the shelves behind you there seem to be a TON of light sabers! How many do you have, which did you make personally, which are your favorite & least favorite (and why)?
Adam, it is time for you to face the music. Please, show us what you do about DUST!!!!
