PREMIUM – Tested in the High Arctic, Day 9
You guys want to join us for an impromptu helicopter ride from the Kapitan Khlebnikov? Of course you do! Here’s what it was like going on a sightseeing excursion to fly around the top of a glacier to grab some photos. We’re joined by photographer Simone Bramante, who dares to stick hand and camera out of the copter to grab his shots.

Wow. Having been on helicopter rides across glaciers and mountain ranges myself a couple of times, that recreates those experiences extremely accurately. Maintaining the camera angle level with the horizon especially helps convey that.
Its a shame you couldn’t mount a go pro on the helicopter… Nice images, would’ve loved to ride the heli there!
It looks awesome, especially that low over the broken ice. However, I thought these rides would be a bit longer and involve a touchdown and hike. This feels a little bit touristy to me, ofcourse it is, but I’m someone who really would want to get out and hike for a few hours.

Was that astronaut Chris Hadfield giving 2 thumbs up?
speechless on so many levels.
yes!
IMO, best thing on this channel.
I got the sense that they did do a bunch of hiking – at least from the other videos and what Norm has mentioned on the podcasts.
This lack of volume control on HTML5 videos is killing me
Seems to me I would have wrapped that camera strap around my wrist at least once… !
