Episode 19 – Can We Stop Talking About the iPhone 4’s Antenna?

On this week’s show, Will sits down with Gary Whitta (who’s subbing in while Norm has a cold) and talks about 1 vs. 100, the Team Fortress Engineer update, and the never-ending controversy around the iPhone 4’s antenna death grip.

” I hate to break it to you guys, but the iPad used In the making of this video did not survive. We’ll be pouring out a 40 later this week in remembrance of it’s sacrifice. “

I still think you guys should send it to an iPhone repair place to have them assess the damage done in monetary terms. That would make for interesting video for anyone thinking about disassembling their iPad.

  2. ” The volume seems very low. “

Yes, I always need to mess with the volume levels on my comp to compensate for low volume. Everything else just overpowers it if I don’t

  3. I was just listening to them talk about how important apps are, and I think apps are very important.  It needs to be able to play movies, music, and games to be complete as a portable media player.  I want one device that does everything and fits in my pocket.

  4. Take a drink every time Gary describes an Apple product as “beautiful”. 😉

Really great analysis on the Apple PR crisis, though, from both you guys. Having watched the conference notes, I’d have to say they dealt with it as well as they could (short of admitting the product faulty and pulling a recall). Whether it will be enough to quell the fires, that’s yet to be seen.

  5. I’ve had an Eris since Dec and I can say that the only time I really use non-facebook/gmail apps when I’m on the can. Or to show the phone off to people.
