  1. Norm’s reaction to the Beats purchase should be good.

And welcome back, and congratulations, Gary!

  2. I found it funny that it took a question from a viewer about their new Motorola E for that phone to even be mentioned on this podcast.

If Apple had released a fully unlocked iPhone variant that ran iOS7, and it only cost $129.00, you two would be talking about it for well over an hour! lol

  3. It’s pretty clear you guys have never used Multi-Window on a Note device, it is anything but a poor experience.

  4. Shared driver-less cars?

Sorry, you want to share a car with a messy pig? Food in the seats, wrappers on the floors?

  5. A Jabba the Hutt Barge was made for Course of the Force last year. Nerdist/Lucas Film fund raiser.

  6. A Jabba the Hutt Barge was made for Course of the Force last year. Nerdist/Lucas Film fund raiser.

Yeah, they had a whole bunch of videos filmed on it too..

  7. I don’t either. But cabs get cleaned (or should get cleaned) every day. It only takes 1% of the user population to “mess” it up for everyone else. Tragedy of the commons. I love the idea of a self driving car, not so keen an sharing it with all & sundry 🙂

  8. The old surface covers are still functional with the Pro 3, just will look a bit odd.

And to echo the Note user (definitely not the first time I’ve seen people praise that function on the Note), multitasking on Win8 is great if you actually use any Modern apps.

  9. You guys seemed a bit confused about the significance of the SpaceX Dragon v2 announcement. Reusing the rocket (Falcon 9) itself is the biggest cost saver for SpaceX, but reusability is a big thing on the Dragon v2 as well.

Previous spacecraft have been reusable to an extent, but Dragon v2 takes it to another level. Capsules that land via parachute to the ocean get exposed to salt water, which means a lot of refurbishing before they can be reused. And then there’s the cost of recovering them from the ocean. NASAs shuttle landed on land but needed to be basically stripped and rebuilt after each flight.

Dragon v2 however is fully reusable for up to 10 times before any significant maintenance is required. On most flights it just needs to have its tanks filled and to be attached on top of the rocket. (On every tenth flight the ablative heat shield needs a new coating and the engines will go through a more thorough maintenance.) This means it’s considerably cheaper to operate than its predecessors, not to mention more comfortable for the passengers.

  10. if you guys are headed to Humboldt, and are gonna be in eureka. You should give me a yell if you got time would love to take you guys to lunch or something.

  11. Why is it TVs seem to have gone backwards in tech. Norms issue with dimming is that LEDs don’t dim very well and PWM is not an option with an LCD refreshing at a certain rate. CCFL tubes dim very well and as the internal primary light is not visible you don’t get a hue like with a white (blue with phospor coating) LED. Older TV’s also had some decent sound, no need for an extra purchase of a sound bar. End rant.
