  1. Did I miss news about Tested.com getting an update or is that just for the audio player? Either way, no complaints here if that’s about to be implemented.

    I forgot to add a comment mentioning that the whole situation with the tablet market is sad right now. For the first time in many years I felt like Microsoft was trying to pull the market instead of letting the market pull them, but the Surface leaves a lot to be desired. I also don’t think Apple should have let people go over the maps situation. Unless they didn’t own up to their mistakes (or decided to resign) they should be given another chance to help fix the problem.

  2. SMS in space you say?

    Voices of a Distant Star illustrates quite poignantly how crappy being limited to light speed communications across interstellar distances would be. This was apparently inspired by a time in the lives of the creator and his wife where they communicated by texts in their spare moments being too busy to see each other in person.

    Watching it??

    OK, in case that’s too hard to manage.

    A couple is separated by war, taking one of them progressively farther out into interstellar space. As such the time between their communications (limited to just texts) goes from hours in near space to days out on the edge of the solar systems, to years in the Sirius system. So a 15 year old mecha pilot (its anime after all) sends a simple message, “I’m here” that will be received a decade later. And of course, for the one waiting back on Earth what getting that message so much later on ultimately means…took me a while after watching to get that bit of fridge logic.

  3. Virtual Gary definitely needs a better mic. Still enjoyed listening, but quality was a little jarring this ep.
