Adam Savage’s King Arthur Armor Build, Part 5

What goes into the design of film armor? Adam and Terry have a conversation about the aesthetics of armor, take a close look at some original design sketches from Excalibur, and go through an exercise in designing a villainous armor from scratch.

  1. These are absolutely wonderful! There’s no way most of us would ever have the opportunity to meet him, but you have given us this moment to learn from, and almost feel like we’re in the room with, this amazing person. I thank you for this experience!

  2. I do love this series, I hope there are lots more episodes left. Also be cool if Adam would meet other building heros and make stuff/ interview them and make it into a regular series

  3. Fun to see the man at work. Got a little nervous watching Adam gesticulate near that glass of water alongside the original drawings…

  4. I’ve wanted to build swords and armor since I was little. The first time I saw A knights Tale and Pirates of the Caribbean all I wanted to do was be a blacksmith. Watching this series is really wonderful and satisfying to the parts of me that have always dreamed of doing something similar.

  5. Absolutely love this series, so inspirational. Would like to take you both for a pint in the pub. I know a few down that way!

  6. This reminded me so much of my childhood and adolescence. I used to draw armor all day and want to build it someday. Of course, the only armor I know how to make is EVA foam lol

  7. LOVE< LOVE loving this series. The marriage between the design on paper and then to metal is visceral. When doing metalwork the "feel" of the tools and the metal guides you and can be hard to put into words.
