Tested Arctic: A Short Film

Last summer, Tested joined Astronaut Chris Hadfield and a team of photographers, filmmakers, and writers on a two-week expedition into the Canadian high Arctic. Tested Producer Joey Fameli brings you along our journey and recounts the incredible sights, encounters, and emotions felt on this trip to one of the most remote places on Earth. 1. Fantastic video Joey – thanks so much for sharing this with us! I’ve enjoyed following, as much as possible, all of the Generator Arctic participants’ documentation of their individual and shared experiences. I’m glad to see your personal take on the trip. You’ve got a great eye for capturing such incredibly stark yet majestically beautiful scenery. I am so envious of all of you – it truly must have been the trip of a lifetime! Thanks again!

  2. This is fantastic. That entire expedition was amazing, thanks for bringing us a glimpse of this incredible experience.

  3. Good job Joey! I know it wasn’t just you, but since you seemed to put it all together I’ll let you disseminate the praise as you see fit!

  4. That was really enjoyable to watch

Also the bow of the ship looks like the place to be. Every shot of it had someone standing out on it

  5. I’ve been waiting for this! Awesome editing of so many great shots. Also if you ever doubt whether or not you have a pleasant voice to listen to, throw that doubt in the trash.

Joey! Please indulge us in more of your interests with more videos (not just the video/foto tech videos).

Well worth the wait for this gem!

  6. Great job Joey. I really enjoyed the narration, well written and very well spoken. Keep up the good work.

  7. This was awesome, Joey – gorgeous work. Things like this remind me that Tested has tremendous talent behind the camera as well as in front.

  8. Absolutely fantastic video! Great shots, great editing, and great narration. Who would have known Joey, usually silent and behind the scenes at Tested, had such a great narrating voice? You should do this more often.

  9. great work. Thanks for sharing it.

I have a question and please don’t take it as anything but true interest.

From 2:30 for about 20 seconds, the acoustic effect on your voice seemed different from the rest. Almost as though there was a more “roomy” reverb on it. I am listening on headphones so maybe it’s just that. I guess it may be connected to the rest of the audio in the background? Sorry for asking.

  10. this video is astounding. Your cinematography is spectacular, and truly heart-achingly beautiful. What an incredible journey you guys had, and what a beautiful little summary you’ve made. Your talents and character are one of the best things about Tested, and this video is the perfect evidence. Thank you for this.

  11. fantastic work, joey! as for connecting and making the world a bit smaller: i’d say mission accomplished. 🙂

    thank you.

  12. Just…..WOW. That was incredible. And it HAS to be the most beautiful thing ever on Tested. Joey and the team need to be sent on trips like this more often!! Jeez…it’s like 8 pm, but I feel like I need to go drive somewhere and DO….SOMETHING… 🙂

  13. Your video is amazing. I’m so happy you made this. You took the arctic expedition we get to hear about from time to time and you gave it to us. Now I think I understand what the expedition was about.

  14. This video is very very awesome! It’s definitely well produced and the narration accompanied the video so so well! Loved it!

I’m voting best video on TESTED so far!

  15. I saw this posted in the week and was excited to watch it, but saved it up for a treat for the weekend when i could do it justice.

What a beautiful video it is, i could watch a feature length of this. Totally agreeing with everyone else…inspiring.

    Thank you.

  16. Joey, that was wonderful.

Are you trying to get it shown at any film festivals? If not, you should!

  17. Holy Shnykees Joey, that was incredible. Beautiful footage, excellent narration, and that song at the end needs to be a music video. Seriously.

  18. This was fantastic! Well done Joey!! I hope to see more travelogue like these. even if it take months to edit.
