  1. Great intro video guys! I can’t wait to see more from this year’s SDCC – you guys always give such great coverage of this event. The San Diego Convention Center is truly an awesome venue – I was there back in January for SolidWorks World 2014 and the main thing that kept running thru my mind was that “this is the site for SDCC!”

  2. I’ve never gone but I’m curious if veteran SDCC-goers like you guys are excited to go year after year or is kind of stale? The massive lines I constantly hear about are such a turn-off for me. It drives me nuts at any cons when I’m waiting around for hours when there’s only so much time in the day and I’m missing out on seeing more.

I imagine for some, waiting for hours upon hours in the middle of the day to be in the same room with the cast of Firefly or something is all that matters to them, but I’m not one to get starstruck really at all.

Has anyone monetized professional line-standing yet? Buy yourself a ticket and offer to stand in lines for people for a fee.

  3. Adventure Time! Selfie wall! Ponies! Star Wars! Boba Pimp! GotG! Darthmobile! Will wanders off! Hotwheels! LEGO! Star Trek! DK2! ALIENS! Marty McFly! Batman! Men In Black! Game of Thrones?

So much to take in. Every year I see videos and photos and tell myself that next year will be when I make the trip.

  4. If only we could get this level of excitement out of norm all the time 😀

I love the ending with the color test signal and beep, Great work Joey.

  5. This video makes me long for the days when Attack of the Show used to broadcast from inside the show. Alison Haislip wandering the show floor, filming at booth after booth, was one of the greatest things ever!

Too bad no one else doesn’t pick up that banner and run with it. *sigh*

  6. I was at Solidworks world in SD a couple of years ago and thought it would be good training for SDCC. You can figure out the entire convention center without the enormous crowds and find all the hidden corners.

  7. Looks hectic! Is it is always that packed or was it even busier than previous years?

It’s always packed. IIRC, over 100,000 tickets are sold for the event every year. Way more people than that would attend if they could get a hold of tickets..

  8. Aww, I miss that uncontrollable fanboy elation Norm has as he walks in. Can’t wait for more footage.

  9. Oh man… I can’t wait for that new Oculus Dev Kit! >,<

Also, if I’m ever in SoCal during Comic Con, I’ll definitely check it out~ That place looks fun as all hell!

  10. Is that Brian Posehn at the 4:30 mark?

Yup!!! I figured they would have mentioned it but they were too busy looking at stuff.

  11. Yeah I came to the comments to mention all the glass touching! That’s how you get plague. Also the walking around with his arms up in the air after Will pointed out he was already a sweaty mess. I expected better nerdiquette but I’ll give tired Norm a pass this time.

  12. The best way to view these events is from a camera mounted on a stick 3 feet above everyone’s heads. Or Tested reports. All the visual stimulation without the exhaustion.

(Being short all I ever see is a wall of people.)
