Sizing up your pattern

  • Hello everyone!

I was wondering if you could suggest some methods to make my A4 size drawing into a full size pattern.

I put my A4 on my monitor and followed the shape of this instrument body I liked, so I have a small drawing that has the right proportions. How could I make a full size (est. 30*50 cm) pattern, with the right proportions using my A4 paper sheet?

    Tank you!

  • Sorry, obviously I was refering to scaling up my A4 sheet drawing to the size I want. I was pretty much solving way too many problems at once and it made me hard to explain myself.

  • Hi Uffizy,

did you solve this already? If not, I would suggest using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to trace the image and then scale it up in those programs. you can then Print it spread over a couple of A4 sheets and paste those together with some tape.

I used this method to create a Guitar Body shape to transfer to a block of wood.

    good luck!
