I'm playing around with stabilizing wood and dying it. I'm having some issues with the dying process itself and thought this might be just the place to find some one who's willing to share some tips and tricks for getting sexy dye jobs on wood when stabilizing it.
It's sort of a guarded secret if you poke around various woodcraft enthusiast forums... they're not much into the concept of open source lol. Anyway, if you stabilize woods for things like pen blanks or knife handles, and do dye jobs, I'd love to hear any info you're willing to share. Hopefully it can shortcut the learning curve a little and I waste less beautiful wood in the process.
@SteamMonkey: I am also experimenting with wood stabilization. Did you ever find answers to your question?
