@JeffreyGee: @Tashi: ahh memories, I'll try to hop on the new server, Lemme try this discord thing again https://discord.gg/wdPtzc
There is a lot of new shit in Minecraft; and most of it makes our lives much easier, if used right. So I thought I'd link a few things I find helpful.
Below is an image of most of the blocks, up to 1.15.
This link is to a page I visit a lot. What tools are best for what blocks, and the toughness rating for each.
And lastly, the YouTube channel I frequent the most, Mumbo Jumbo. Over the years the real artists and mechanics of Minecraft have made a name for themselves, and most of them work on a specific server called HermitCraft. It's sort of mind blowing the scale of some of their builds, and Mumbo, in my opinion, is one of the best in the world for redstone builds.
One last thing, for those playing on Seal's server and those who will join, my temple is open to all; please feel free to use anything, and take any mats you need. :)
I vouch for Violent_Silent. He's joined the server, but may not be on very often.
Also, CrocheteMamma may pop on now and then, she's my wife.
@JeffreyGee: are your alerts still coming in slow?
It's looking like the server difficulty is on Easy, instead of Normal. We might consider changing it to Normal. Mobs spawn is less density, rarely spawn with armor or weapons, drop bows less often, won't infect villagers; Slimes are bigger and drop more, etc.
Also, I would make an argument for increasing the max homes to two: not only do some players have two homes, but they generally have a home and a mine, or a home and a village they visit, etc. This could be an opportunity to create one or two higher ranks, the second granting a second /home.
I'm down for helping build a structure at spawn point. I'd love it if we could replicate the one from the Tested server, for nostalgia. :)
Oh, I pranked your house, btw. Check it out. :P
Lastly, can we start advertising? We can resurrect the sign up form to whitelist people; I'm on often enough that you can give me the perm to /promote.
@Tashi: Nope, looks like they're back on schedule.
I've updated the difficulty to normal and uncapped the home limit. You should be able to set unlimited homes now. We'll give it a shot, looking to everyone for feedback on how they like it.
I believe I've set it up so that all users who join will have the default set of permissions (build, tp, etc). If that doesn't seem to be the case, let me know.
@JeffreyGee: Sweet! I've posted in a Facebook group with 3k people, we'll see what happens.
I'm thinking it might be prudent to turn off fire-spreading as well, to avoid griefing: that'd be /gamerule doFireTick false
Also, I noticed enderman and creepers are able to do some real damage; can we turn off modgriefing as well? that'd be /gamerule mobGriefing false
Thx mate! :)
