Hello. I have a Nikon D7000 camera and a Nikon SB-400 speedlight. The speedlight is about 4 years old and has recently stopped firing after it's first flash. I've done all the basic troubleshooting I can think of. I've changed the batteries, cleaned the contacts, fired the onboard flash, and checked all the flash settings in-camera. I know the camera is aware of the speedlight because as soon as I turn it off and try to take a picture the onboard flash automatically pops up and fires. Has anybody else had a similar problem? Thanks in advance for any tips/advice you have.
Can you fire it once, turn it off, and then fire it again?
@mclaren777: No it's usually after The camera power has been off for about 20 minutes or more that it fires.
@MantaBase: Thanks I'll see what specific kind of batteries it calls for and try that.
