Adam’s Favorite Tools: Quick-Change Tool Holders!

Adam loves using his shop mill not just for machining parts, but also for drilling holes. And he recently started using an R8 quick-change tool system to reduce what can often be a time-consuming process. For example, center spotting, drilling, tapping, chamfering, and putting counter sinks into plates would require switching out bits with corresponding collets with every step of the process. Adam demonstrates this quick-change tool post system by completing a series of drilling operations that normally would take over an hour in just 15 minutes!

In this live stream excerpt, Adam answers MythBusters-related questions from Tested members Thor Johann, The Prop Master with Robert Walker, John Zizolfo, Chronicles of an Amateur and Aracore about working with Jamie, attitudes around set, which myths would be easier to test today, best/worst camera shots and … avoiding the word “fart.” Thank you Thor, Robert, John, Chronicles and Aracore for your support and questions!

Behind The Scenes of Tested’s Short Film “The Beacon”!

Here’s what it was like for Adam and the team to make our short film “The Beacon”, featuring Adam’s xEMU-inspired spacesuits to help announce the relaunch of G4. Adam’s One Day Builds: Miniature Astronaut Display!

Perhaps the smallest EMU spacesuit in Adam’s collection is this 1/4-scale Blitzway replica he purchased this past year–a remarkably detailed recreation of the iconic NASA spacesuits worn by astronauts on spacewalks outside the ISS. This magnificent mixed-media replica served as inspiration during Adam’s own xEMU-inspired spacesuit build, and he recently built a custom compact display stand for it to live in the cave.
