We’re so excited to announce a new collaboration with effects and makeup artist Frank Ippolito: The Zoidberg Project. You may recognize Frank from his recent appearance on the show Face Off, as well as being the creator of Adam Savage’s Admiral Ackbar mask. Over the next few months, Frank will be designing, sculpting, and making a realistic Dr. Zoidberg costume. Learn more about the project here.
While in New York, we visited the home and workshop of Jason Freeny, an artist well-known in the custom toy community for his anatomical sculptures. Jason transforms inanimate characters, such as designer vinyl figures, into anatomical cutaways, revealing the imagined body parts under their plastic skin. Here, he explains and demonstrates his sculpting process.
