Shame it works - I was waiting for a sizzle.

All I wonder is what kind of messed up kid decides to pour water on a power strip. That is the last thing I'd have thought to do. I can see how they might urinate on it, but in my opinion, kids are far more likely to shove small objects into the receptacle. This provides no protection from that, and it's $70! You'd have to be crazy to buy this. But the video was entertaining, so I'm glad Tested bought it.

This is what Tested is all about! Crazy Crazy!

you guys totally need to have a non-waterproof power supply as a control! :)

Should've pushed it to the limit, this has absolutely the craziest promotional material I've ever seen. There's actually some pretty amazing fail safes I wish regular power strips would pick up on.

Skip to the halfway mark unless you love awesome bad dubbing.
tldw: you can plug stuff in while in contact with water, sockets are stagnant unless power is being drawn

I felt safe knowing Tony had your backs.

@AnoidDroid: Well, the promotional material also claims that you can shove metal objects into the sockets and nothing will happen.
Xeiphyeron Aug. 19, 2010 at 3:27 a.m.
I demand you repeat the test with a regular power supply for comparison!

great job with the editing.
Falxon Aug. 19, 2010 at 5:57 a.m.
They should have tested what actually happens to a regular power strip as well, would have been more scientific and way cooler.
