Just short a year after the debut of the first-gen Kindle Paperwhite, Amazon has revealed the follow-up to its illuminated e-book reader. Except this time, the announcement comes not from a Jeff Bezos press event, but from a simple product page refresh. The price is the same--$120 with offers, $140 without ads--and the hardware gets bumps in processor speed, e-ink contrast, brighter illumination, and touchscreen responsiveness. Page turning is reportedly faster, say those who've had a chance to try one out already. Still touch-only controls, though. You can pre-order one now for Sept 30th delivery.
