2.5 Gigapixel Panorama from Word's Tallest BuildingBy Norman Chan This massive gigapixel photo was taken to commemorate the HIPA event, taking place in Dubai this March. The HIPA site explains that photographer Gerald Donvan created the photo with a camera mounted on a mechanized tripod, placed atop Dubai's Burj Khalifa tower. That system captured 48 photos, each 80 megapixels large. Donvan then manually took 22 photos to fill in gaps the system couldn't capture, and all 70 photos were meticulously stitched together. The embedded video doesn't do the real 360 degree panorama justice--click here for that>.
