Google Now for iOS Released

By Norman Chan

Built into the awesome Google Search app.

We knew Google was working on bringing its Google Now service from Android Jelly Bean devices to other platforms, and today the feature makes its way to iOS as part of the Google Search app. Unlike the Android version, it neither runs in the background nor pushes urgent updates to the notification bar, but it will tap into the iOS background location service. 22 of the 29 information cards from the Android version are available--notable omissions include airline boarding passes and local events. The Google Search app update is available now in the App store.
