Even though the PlayStation Phone--also known as the Sony Ericcson Xperia Play--has been leaked time and time again since October, Sony’s not quite ready to come out and officially acknowledge the phone-meets-gaming platform exists. Until Sony dishes out the full details, we’ll have to make do with what leaks out of China. Thankfully, there’s a lot leaking out of China, including new details and benchmarks of the phone’s processor (likely a Snapdragon) and GPU (a Qualcomm Adreno 205). The leaks also list a 1500 mAh battery, 854x480 screen, 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM expandable via microSD, with microUSB support and a 5 megapixel camera.
New video of the PlayStation Phone has surfaced, demonstrating the device’s gaming chops--sort of. Thing is, the phone’s running a PS1 emulator to play Resident Evil 2 and Rage Racer, which doesn’t exactly give us a clear picture of what kind of graphics to expect for games from this decade.
