AT&T's 1989 Pen and Tablet
From AT&T's wonderful historical archives: "Inventor and engineer, Bob Boie, who worked at AT&T's Bell Laboratories for decades, often took the worlds of art and music and deftly enhanced them with computer hardware. This film briefly profiles Boie's pen and tablet touchscreen, in 1989. The Pen and Tablet tool had a special feature: it worked over telephone lines. This remote drawing tool was used in the first overseas live drawing transmission in 1990. The 1989 tool is an early precursor to later popular drawing games such as the Pictochat tool on the Nintendo DS."
