It's finally come to this. This morning, the United States Postal Service announced that it will cease basic first-class mail delivery on Saturdays, but continue to service package shipments and deliveries six days a week. This cost-cutting move, which will begin the week of August 5th, is expected to save the floundering postal service $2 billion a year. Last year, the USPS operated at a net loss of $15.9 billion.
