Athletic Robot Demonstrates Its Sprinting and Falling Prowess

Is there anything more entertaining than watching robots fall over?

We may have to make due with robots that mimic humanity while we wait for mind-blowing AI, but sometimes robots that mimic our own bodies can produce amazing results. Take the Athlete Robot from Tokyo University's ISI Lab, for example: its design emulates the human muscular system and looks surprisingly life-like in motion. Unlike a real athlete, the robot can only take about five steps before spilling out in grand fashion. With better balance, we could see robots with this humanoid muscular system really going places.
