Design Concept Shows New Way to Group Power Cables

By Wesley Fenlon

Yanko's cables would snap together to produce clean lines, then pull apart at each end to plug in.

Our workstations and home entertainment centers are packed to the gills with electronics, and without some careful planning and neatness their power cables can quickly become a tangled mess. Only the brave dare venture back there to straighten cables, set twist ties and turn anarchy into order. Some people prefer to let the chaos run wild, which is fine--but if the great cable orgy going on behind your desk burns your house down, don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Most of our common solutions involving twist ties and rubber bands are hardly elegant, and Yanko Design has posted a neat little concept for arranging cables that’s as stylish as it is utilitarian. Depending on the type of molding in your house, the Line Block could even look decorative--it showcases a tongue and groove plastic covering for stacking multiple power cords one atop the other.
