This would be less of an issue if google tightened up the android market a bit and manufacturers made more of an effort to keep their popular phones up to date. Don't get me wrong I love android but would never recommend one to someone who isn't at least a bit tech savvy.

@obidamnkenobi: They sell you a phone on a contract for 2 years they should plan to support the phone with timely updates for at least that long for the $199+ models. Apple does right by their customers by offering them software updates for at least 2 major versions beyond what was available when they purchased their device day and date when everyone else gets it.

Great software that actually gets updated in a timely manner. There have been plenty of great Android phones that are stuck on old versions of Android longer than they should or never get updated at all. It shouldn't be the community's responsibility to clean up the messes handset manufacturers leave as far as software goes. The original Galaxy S series of phones in the US is a great example of ...

I would just use the apple stuff or at the very least just the keyboard since its the exact same as the one thats on your notebook so the muscle memory is already there. If you don't like the magic mouse you could try something from logitech.

I bought my Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy S) off contract for full price. I am still figuring out whether that was a good idea or not. On one hand I'm not stuck with a barely tolerable phone for 2 years (good) but on the other hand I paid $500 for it.
