All this nonsense makes me thankful I'm on 3 in the UK, They encourage high data use on their unlimited plans. I download The Witcher 2 just because I could. Their coverage is spotty if you go out in to the countryside though but in civilised areas the coverage is excellent.

During the week when I'm working I force myself tigo to bed by 12pm. However as soon as I don't have work the next day it's back to going to bed at whatever time I'm too tired to hold the controller. Like last night I played the 'just one more quest, then bed' game with Skyrim. I started at 11pm and won/lost at 3:44am I can enjoy a tired and ...

If I was AMD I would stop inventing HD-DVDesque connections and making RAM, and sort my processor game out.

Pfft 16 of your crap HDMI cables, but only 2 of my AudioQuest HDMI cables.

Ignore specs its mostly all marketing bullshit and cockwaving. What's your budget, what size are you looking for and can you wait for new models (seeing as new models were just announced at CES) I would recommend at least 42 for any room (unless it can't fit in the door) and my 5 year old Panasonic has been very good to me, Panasonic also has the recommendation of Tested's own ...

@adevtus Yeah it was fine. Installed my Cooler perfectly... But upside down.

@CrippleCaptain it's definitely in the CPU fan port I hunted for that bastard for ages. I think a lose pin sounds probable. It was on a the static bag on top of a box I'll chuck some bubble wrap under it when I put the 212 on it. All this aside I enjoyed building it. My cables look like a tramps beard though

Before. In hindsight not a great idea.

@CrippleCaptain I did that exactly that. I felt the board flex and I heard creaking, so I naturally shit myself. They did all click though I'm certain of that and it does spin. Faulty thermal paste somehow? None of my chemists have rubbing alcohol I asked for isopropyl alcohol too and they just stared at me... I had to order it online and am in need of an applicator some ...

@CrippleCaptain Ofc Intel. AMD's offering is crap to say the least.

@roninhack I have a coolermaster 212 on the way and I haven't turned it on since I found out. Are cotton buds/q-tips good for cleaning thermal paste off the top of the CPU or should I get a microfiber cloth?

I built my first computer two weeks ago however it kept crashing. After discovering the CPU cooler isn't working I'm wondering if I damaged my CPU. I played games for around 40 hours in 5-8 hour chunks and I ran a Super Pi benchmark that showed the temp hit 87.

@Shivoa In other news GPU is fine running furnark 1080p 15 mins and the temp was 59oc Also realised I was actually limiting the fan speed on the GPU in MSI

@Shivoa Fuck.

@Shivoa I may have found the problem. Core temp is showing an average of 40oc and as soon as I pop hyper pi on it jumps to 85. 1m digits normal priority and 4 processors

@Shivoa @Bloody_El I did forget to mention everything runs fine in DX9 mode it's DX11 that seems to be the problem.

@Bloody_El I've got 2500k Asus 570 8gb Ram Asus z68 pro 120gb SSD 1tb HDD Corsair HX750 No overclocking at all. I tried with MSI but reset everything and uninstalled it. No it doesn't crash when doing basic tasks

I didn't expect it to work as well as a console obviously but I do expect it to work. Every game I try crashes after less than 20 mins. Saints Row locks up after the developer logos Deus Ex crashes regularly after 20 mins Skyrim worked fine on the initial drivers that came with my GPU (267) but on 285 crashes in minutes.

Ive got an Asus 570 in my new build and it crashes to desktop disappointingly often when playing games in DX11 mode. I've heard one reason for this being that most cards are underpowered out of the box and a small up in voltage 1v to 1.0250v is enough to stabilise it. I downloaded MSI Afterburner and ticked the box to allow voltage control but I still can not change ...
