How does the "president of the National Press Photographers Association" not know what HDR is or does? His statements sound like some of the politicians supporting SOPA, PIPA, and/or ACTA. Basically:"I don't know what in the hell I'm talking about and have made no effort to learn, but this new thing is or could be bad and I want to control or destroy it somehow!"It's vague, disingenuous condemnation voiced by ...

I was feeling pretty stoked about the PC parts I'm getting tomorrow for my pretty-much-entirely-new system. Then I read this story and felt like Loyd slapped me in the cheek with a white nerd-glove.

I wish the 15" Macbook Pro I got as part of my schoolin' package had a number pad. Every time I have to input specific values into an animation program or Photoshop, the long row of numbers slows me down to a crawl. Also, I like physical volume knobs. I agree, though, that having hard stops so you can tell where you start and end is a must.In any case, I'd ...

I'd still want one of these, but the PS3 media remote I'm about to get does PS3, amp, and TV, which is all I need. There's a far more complicated setup in my home's living room (where everyone besides me goes for entertainment), so getting a cheap new Harmony would get rid of fully four remotes. Five if I decide to get that PlayStation adapter, but that thing is $50 ...

Hot stuff. I might buy that 30-pin/micro USB device for my brother - he tends to have to charge a Kindle, Bluetooh devices, and his iPhone by switching cables and positions. That'll definitely keep his work area cleaner.

Well, that basically puts the only fear I have about overclocking six feet under. The 2500k is the processor I want when I upgrade my processor and motherboard soon, unless an i7 is close in price (rendering projects benefit greatly from an i7). Adding about 10% to the price of the processor seems like a fair deal.Honestly I'd overclock the processor I have now since it's so easy, but if ...

I've had far too many bad experiences with AA batteries to trust them.I've never had a AA battery break on me. Weird.Same here. In fact I found an old Bluetooth keyboard that I hadn't used in maybe 6-8 months with some cheap-o dollar store AAs ...

Razr needs to release the program described in this video that lets you configure gamepad controls for PC games. I'd pay good money not to have to deal with stuff like Xpadder (even though it works okay) and motionjoy.

If I ever happen to find an incredible racing wheel at my doorstep, I'll totally start playing every type of driving game there is. As it is, I find the genre boring compared to story-based games (though I can see why others would feel the exact opposite way about their gaming hobby).

Even these images, as imperfect as they are by being a picture of a screen, look damned incredible. I can see why they were so blown away by the real thing.

I love those monitors. The design looks like it leaves plenty of room for cable management (I like all my stuff to be near my monitor - it helps when you're as forgetful as I am to have everything constantly in view). If they are available when I upgrade my screen later this year I'll get one if there is a very-high resolution model.

Pardon me while I jump up and down with excitement. Despite all the cool stuff i always see from CES and tech news, this is the only one that combines cool factor, usefulness, and affordability (and it kills / negates my desire to have a tablet for fast use and a laptop for proper computing needs). The coveting has begun.

Seems like it would make a good camera, but so would a lot of other stuff that doesn't cost as much. They're so damn cool, though...

On the topic of the Vita, Rein may have been forceful but that was necessary since there were at least 3 people trying to stop him so they could voice dissenting opinions that are all more or less the same. If he wasn't there it would have been the usual 5-20 minutes of "this is why it's garbage!" counter-pointed exclusively by "no, THIS is why it's garbage!"

Awesome, it means I'll be able to actually use my own computer as a proper server with all the same advantages instead of something separate (and it gives me an excuse to fill up those empty HDD slots in my case). The only disadvantage is that a separate server can be used by my entire household as the place to backup anything and everything within the network, and I'd rather ...

$60? I'm pretty sure I've paid about that amount for some fairly garbage-y cameras, and this one looks incredible.I might get one to help with art/animation work (using myself as a model for something basic is easier than trying to find something that is exactly what I want).

I agree with simply having a run at the full game being how demos should work. The way I play games is to spend a lot of time with one obsessively, and sometimes buying the full game on a whim gets me in trouble, because even if I'm bored I feel like I have to justify the purchase (here's looking at you, Dragon Age II). Just a couple of hours ...

@Xenthis said:@Parsnip: Liquid cooling - at least - it seems to work just as well and is MUCH safer feeling because the radiator is separate - I use a closed loop system so setup is EXTREMELY easy.So I assume you use one of the Corsair "kits" (not sure if the word applies)? Mine keeps the processor extremely stable, never going higher than 45c (48 at 100% benchmarking), and it's so ...
