@CodeMunki said:It is interesting, though, that the screen on the $250 Nook is better than the one in the $500 iPad 2. THAT should have been the headline. That wouldn't be either trolling the Fire or singing the praises of Apple, so yeah, unlikely.

As a long-time T-Mo customer, I couldn't be happier with this result. Balls to AT&T.

I haven't had much time to play with mine yet, but so far I really like it. Feels very solid, has nice weight, experience has been smooth, and browsing for me hasn't been slow in the least. The few games I've installed all worked well and looked good, Netflix app is nice and playback is good (as is the Amazon instant video), and the mail app works as expected. Everything ...

I couldn't care any less about anything Barnes and Noble puts out. Really, they're just a kind of sad little joke these days it seems. They're completely missing the point with this device, just like they did with the rest of their funny little nooks.

Never mind all the GPS systems and Google Nav that people have been using for years, clearly it's APPLE (swoon) that has brought this to the public eye!

@WaltJay: I preordered a Fire to use as a movie / internet / game device for the couch or bed, but will still use my 3rd gen Kindle to read on. I agree that reading on e-ink is vastly superior to a backlit screen.

But none of this adds to productivity on enterprise workstations. I work on multiple monitors and have numerous windows open at all times. I am never going to be in a position at work to have one or two Metro apps be the only thing I need to see. From my perspective, Metro is an absolute destroyer of productivity. And while I get your point about game information on the Metro ...

I never run anything but games in fullscreen on my 2560x1600 monitor, why on Earth would I want a Start menu replacement to take up all of that screen real estate? This is truly the worst design decision Microsoft has ever made and it will seriously impact their ability to get enterprise environments to upgrade if they don't offer the ability to use a 'classic' style Start menu. A point ...

Count me in on the wanting-in-on-this-action list. I've been playing since Alpha and promise not to be a douche.

I don't see it mentioned anywhere whether or not it supports Bluetooth, so I assume it doesn't. Would be nice if it did, though.
