Kinda sucks that you don't even mention the possibilities for firmware or software updates for the trackpad drivers or keyboard drivers. Also, you might have gotten a faulty device? Did you bother to ask ASUS?Anyway, I hope ultrabooks will become cheaper in a year or so with maintained performance!

@Will: The last cable you PULLED... you know it has a lock mechanism.. it is the black plastic thing on the other end of the connector you just gently lift it to unlock the cable. Also, all the connectors are easy to slide back in, with the smaller ones, a plastic tweezer helps. Just some friendly tips from someone who has opened a lot of earlier e-readers ;)

I would blame the Motherboard.But have you checked your manufacturers support? Maybe other people with the same board have had something like this happen as well or maybe the manufacturer can tell you if this is in fact a Motherboard error.
