@Knutas: Anecdotally, not all that poor! I took my iPad into a local authorised service centre with the complaint that the home button was "flakey." Without checking at all, I signed a form and had a brand new one the next day.
Given the fact that in my use case the Start screen—as was the Start menu—is a mere indexed launcher, I have no problem with it. I tap Start, type what I want to launch, and press Enter. I really never need to look at it.
