I really want YouTube to get onto the Roku, but I have to say that having access to Google Music cloud service through my Roku would be great and very useful. I would also find the Amazon Cloud Player just as good. Personally, I would love to see most of the choices in this poll happen soon enough, but that's probably very wishful thinking.

@Toxeia: I have a Facebook account and also a Twitter account and that's it for social online. There are two major caveats for them though. The Facebook account is in my true, real world name and I highly censor it by only putting mundane and safe things onto it. Not to mention it is only for family and a few old friends to make contact with and to follow them. I ...

@Fripplebubby: @Shivoa: I also remember hearing that NetFlix was working on making a HTML5 based version of their software and service which would make it just about open to everyone with a modern computer and any operating system. I guess they just have to bake in the DRM security somehow. Then again, everyone is supposedly heading to HTML5 based websites and services for the future, so things like Silverlight and ...

@DKWildz: Sounds good in opinion. I don't have a Fire tablet, myself, but I know I would find it or the Nook or any other Android tablet useful to some degree. It all depends on you really. Your budget, your expectations, and your ability to use it in the future for useful or fun things.

@MordeaniisChaos: How could you not know about this at this point unless you stopped paying attention to computer tech for the past few months? Shit, even Gary Whitta talked about this device on the podcast. I've also brought the Raspberry Pi up a couple of times in the Tested forum threads. I suggest you simply Google the device or look it up on YouTube (which is what you should have ...

@wtflife: It's a futuristic thing. People always want something to be thinner, smaller, and compact yet also be advanced and more powerful than past models. You also have to remember there are also people in the world who are not as strong and sturdy as you and others. Yes, a laptop that weighs five to seven pounds can be taxing to some who have to carry it a lot. The ...

The Raspberry Pi will have its first batch of models made by February 20th. The micro-computers are being made in China and it was hit by a delay due to a single component not being readily available in that area of the world. Thankfully, that component issue is now solved. The Raspberry Pi was tentatively suppose to hit the market in late January of 2012. Once the first batch is ...

@Shivoa: @Fripplebubby: If I remember correctly, NetFlix is supposedly working to get the main Ubuntu / Linux (i.e. Debian based versions) users going with their service. I don't think NetFlix wants to piss off the possible small Linux userbase it could have with them. It's more an issue of DRM restrictions that the media companies impose. And as most of us know, a lot of Linux OSs and users tend ...

@frytup: But just about TV shows made before the year 2005 are in the 4:3 aspect. Why would you assume there would suddenly be more to see? And if they altered the show to fit widescreen, it would look very off and kinda of goofy.

@thabigred said:@LtSquigs: 1. When a US good costs twice the cost of an Chinese good, no amount of tax cuts or other subsidy is going to offset that huge cost. All you are doing is taking public funds that could be going to more dire programs and using it to fill the pockets of companies that probably were going to build those factories here anyways. And I don't disagree that ...

I saw this on Reddit. A girl simply attaches a GoPro HD camera to a hula-hoop and simply starts the hula-hoop dance. Pretty cool idea and video.

@thabigred: I believe the negative view to shareholders and the board of directors of most companies comes from the fact that most of them, in general, when they are honest and not worried about looking civil and human, will say they just want profit and don't really concern themselves with whatever happens afterwards due to this only pursuit. Seeking profit, and nothing more, usually screws a lot of people and ...

@DCam: I'll make the assumption that this really isn't possible. And if you did figure something out by linking a bunch of things together, it would look and run awkward and also cost money. Honestly, the only advice I can give you that would help with your current technology is to get a hotel room with a better TV with real input that one can use nowadays easily enough (i.e. ...

@CashBailey: of course you can read off of a tablet for a long time, it just depends on the individual and their eyes and what they consider a long time to be. i read off my ipod touch all the time and those reading sessions tend to last, on average, for 20 mintues to an hour or so. i don't need or want to read for hours on end all ...

@tadros: I believe that Thunderbolt technology is being aimed at professional / enterprise users. Focusing in on individual, average users is not a priority. Therefore the prices will stay high for at least the first year or two until there is a tipping point in demand and supply. Basically, Thunderbolt is meant for the rich (i.e. high end Apple users) and artist / tech pro who could really use it ...

There's a new Humble Bundle gaming pack available. It has two great games I know of from past use, World Of Goo and Osmos. The other two games are EDGE and Anomaly Warzone Earth. Be aware, to get World Of Goo, you have to donate over the average amount given by all purchasers. It was under six dollars when I went to buy my version. As with previous Bundles offered, ...

@MaddenedMan: I honestly can't think of a reason seeing how you have a smartphone already. The Nano should offer more storage space for songs and podcasts than the the entry level 8GB iPod Touch.I have an iPod Touch myself, and it's one of the best things I've ever bought for personal use. I use my iPod Touch for email, reading ebooks, RSS feeds, the news, podcasts, learning apps, Twitter, and ...

@lane: @Rxanadu: Yes, Quibids is an auction site where you pay to have the right to bid. I cannot say Quibids is a scam, but it's surely a dumb and wasteful way to buy something. Not to mention it seems rigged on some level but I cannot prove this assertion. Basically, you pay Quibids ten bucks or so and that gives you like 50 chances to bid and there's absolutely ...
