I think Vista was a much better OS, but I was lucky to have no driver issues with Vista so I seem to be in a minority.I'd say you had a unique experience with WinXP that has coloured your view of how it performs then. I would definitely agree Win7 can boot faster and shut down a lot ...

@Shivoa said:But the problem with the battery life of your computer isn't related to your OS. That laptop seems to be a 2007 era and so 5 years later we're into the age where the battery is starting to degrade to the point of needing to be replaced. A lot of the chemistry that held energy has decayed and is now dead weight, which is why it hardly runs for ...

This is my laptop. It's essentially power-equivalent to a modern netbook with a more power-hungry processor and a 15.4" screen. Before you all go tell me to install Linux, I already have it on here. Posting from Lubuntu 11.10.I just want to get a light install of Windows just so that I can run some old games (SC:BW, Diablo II, RCT 1 and 2, maybe WoW or some of the Steam ...

@DG991 said:@tofu: Ok. Just curious which phone are you using? I have a droid incredible and my friend has a droid rezound.Same here. I'm using a Raider with Sense 3.5. I like Sense 2, but the only feature that I miss from it is the extremely simplistic lockscreen.I also like stock Android; TouchWiz and whatever LG is using is, IMO, shit. Permadocked bar, ugly widgets, useless widgets... Bleh. Sense has ...

Speaking of Windows 7 Libraries, I must be one of the only people who loathes them.I find myself venturing back into my user folder, to the "My <whatever>" folder manually and working from there. I know that it's essentially the same, but I just prefer to manage like that rather than the more inspecific Library method. Also, anyone know how to permanently remove the "My" from those folders? It's the one ...

I still don't really understand Tested's raving reviews about TouchWiz nowadays as compared with before. While Sense is a heavy interface, I find that it does a whole lot more than what TouchWiz ever did. At least it looks elegant, while TW just looks very bleh, making me want to drop a CM build on the phone.@BUCK3TM4N said:has anyone heard anything from samsung or t-mobile about the nexus coming to ...

I'm also using a Rosewill RK-9000 with Blues, and I love it to bits. Typing on anything else, now, is a compromise. Damn laptops.

@liveforlaughs76 said:Not to mention the fact that they were using outdated hardware for Verizon. Why not the RAZR, Rezound, and Galaxy NexusExcept that it makes 0 difference, because these are data speed tests and not "load a webpage with funky scripting" tests, if I'm reading the article correctly. The loading of the webpage and the initial "numbers" tests are different, and Verizon won that segment handily.LTE hardware and data connection ...

It was already difficult for me to drop $70 for my Rosewill RK-9000 mechanical... I dunno, maybe I'm just cheap or something.

I use a few things that Chrome just doesn't have on Firefox, notably integrated RSS and the ability to do a full wipe automatically on exit.

Well, I just thought that a $70 MSRP mouse from one of the world's leading tech companies should hold up a bit bettter than 4 days, especially when working out of the box previously. No need to get confrontational, buddy. Either way, the mouse has gone back for an even exchange.

Aus_azn started the topic Portable USB mice on the PC and Mac board.
So, I've been doing a bit of PC gaming-on-the-go on my laptop...Having never really used a portable USB mouse on my laptop before, I decided to drop for one and bought the wireless USB Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse for $28 on Black Friday. I've used it, literally, for six days, when the mouse simply ceased communicating with the transceiver 2 hours ago. Seeing this as "total bullshit", I'm debating between ...

I dropped for the HTC Vivid on Black Friday. I don't really care how much Samsung has improved their devices; I simply can't trust them after my experience with the Captivate.Overall, I'm very happy with the phone. I've always wanted a phone with Sense, and it's as pretty and lag-free as I was hoping it'd be. Everything worked without a hitch right out of the box, and temp-rooting has ripped ...

Samsung and Touchwiz still do not appeal to me, not because of the performance but because of the whole package. The Galaxy S scarred me to the point that I'm not willing to try another of their devices with my hard-earned cash. I'll be dropping for the HTC Vivid when it hits ATT next month, if my company again fails to allow me to switch to Verizon.

@Haoshiro said:It also suggest that if you buy Android, buy an HTC (not a Motorola like I had, heh)This is very, very true.Even though Samsung has very good specifications on paper, it does not even matter since their hardware support is complete shit. I'd much rather have gotten a weaker HTC Aria instead of my Galaxy S Captivate just because of the level of refinement and updating capabilities.

Sorry about the bump, I don't sign into Tested much.@ChaosDent said:@Aus_azn: How old is your computer? If you are only getting 1 hour with Windows XP (Which I assume it shipped with) your battery probably has reached the end of its lifecycle and should be replaced. The computer is going on 6 years old, and came with Windows Vista right as Vista hit RTM.
