If any of the reported numbers turn out to be true, Europeans could be paying around $1000 for a Galaxy Tab. For instance, word out of France has the Galaxy Tab pegged at €699 (about $900), which is the price of a 32GB 3G-equipped iPad. But Germany is reporting a price of €799--if Samsung is matching Apple’s pricing, they’re offering half the storage for the same amount!

Samsung’s comments to the Wall Street Journal indicate the Galaxy Tab could debut on a US carrier somewhere between $200 and $300. Of course, the ultimate price will have to be worked out with the carrier (or carriers)--but even at $300, the tablet would be a steal compared to a whopping 699 Euros. We’ll have more concrete details when Vodafone starts selling the Galaxy next month.
Even Samsung seems a bit confused on the US pricing, as another exec supposedly priced the device between $300 and $400. The company expects to ship 10 million Galaxy Tabs in 2011; will they be able to achieve that kind of market penetration at $400? Perhaps--but we’re guessing everyone here would be a bit more tempted to buy in at 200 bucks.
