 Ok, straight up.
I want to jailbreak my new iphone but it is upgraded to 3.1.3 so I can't. The guy who does jailbreaking (geohot) basically told me to screw myself and wait, but I'm impatient so I refuse. Is there anyway (through restoring, ipwming ete) to get the magic of cydia on my 3.1.3 iphone 3gs? If its any help I havent jailbroken my 3gs yet. Jailbreaking nerds help me! And keep in mind I'm a idiot who doesn't understand anything but I like jailbreaks.

No. Wait for something that's tested and approved by either geohot or the iPhone Dev Team otherwise you'll risk buggering up your phone. Better safe than sorry, and you're not missing out on much.

That's not a huge issue. Jailbreaking software is so easy to use it's highly unlikely he'll brick the phone. Worst case he may fuck up the software install and have to format through iTunes, but if he's already on 3.1.3 legitimately what's the problem?

I agree that jailbreaking isn't a big deal though. My 2G iPhone is jailbroken and I never use Cydia or anything like that. I simply had to jailbreak and unlock it because when I got the phone it was not yet supported by my provider.

That being said, there are lots of programs that will jailbreak your phone. Personally redsn0w has been the most successful for me. Sites like iPhoneDownloadBlog has a bunch of stuff to help you get started. If you don't know what you're doing though, take the time and read some tutorials. Don't just go download the program and start clicking through stuff or you'll end up staring at a useless phone wondering where you went wrong and then you'll have to format and start all over.

If I may ask though, what is so appealing to you about a jailbroken phone? Like I said, as an owner of a jailbroken iPhone I don't think I have ever used any of the apps found within Cydia.

@FakePlasticTree: Yeah, fair point. It's pretty tough to brick an iPhone, and if you're on 3.1.3 already, you're not going to lose much.

Interesting to see that there are actually 3.1.3 jailbreaks around (redsn0w) - I  had thought they were still being worked on - probably getting myself confused with unlocks.

The only jailbreak app other than the carrier unlock I use frequently is SBSettings - allows me to quickly toggle things like a rotate lock, brightness, 3G and so on. It's not vital, but somewhat useful.

Ya there's quite a few 3.1.3 unlocks out now as well. I'm sure those dudes are just pacing back and forth in their living rooms right now waiting for 4.0 to come out so they can crack that.
