I would make sure that the monitor cable is plugged in fully.  Do you happen to have another monitor to try?

@fish_face_mcgee: No sorry. It is plugged in fully. I swapped ends as well to see if that was the problem but it isn't. Thanks for your help though!!

Or another cable. A colored tint after moving a computer almost always means a cord got loose or one of the pins inside the connector got bent. Unless you're just extremely unlucky and your graphics card or monitor decided to go belly-up at the same time you moved the machine, I'd bet money a bad connection is your problem.

@lane: A bad connection on the wire between screen and the CPU/tower.

Yeah, that's what he's saying.  You should be able to buy one from Best Buy for pretty cheap depending on how long a cable you need.

@fish_face_mcgee: Is there a certain end of the cable which most be plugged into the CPU or into the screen or can it go anyways?

@MrSnow:

It doesn't have to go any certain way. Look in the end of the cable and see if any of the little pins are bent over or broken off. If they're bent over, get a mechanical pencil and try to slide the pin up inside the pencil tip to straighten it out.

Depending on how you moved it (how you removed the video cable, did you remove it, etc) you could have damaged one of the pins of the cable.

@ElegantRuby:  @fish_face_mcgee:
One end of the cord has 15 pins the other 14? Does this mean its broken?And yes there are computer shops. But the nearest one to me is a 15 minute drive. And i have no license at the moment.

Yep. Furthermore, the pin may have broken off inside the thing it was connected to, so you need to get a flashlight [EDIT: torch, sorry =)] and see if you can find it. If you can see it, get a wad of Sticky Tac (or whatever the Irish equivalent is - sticky stuff you use to hang up posters) and press it against the socket. Hopefully it'll grab it and you can pull it out.

If you can't drive, can you order online? It'll be significantly cheaper anyway.

I actually think there is a way to change the spell check from American English to British English.

In Chrome click the spanner at the top right, go to options, make sure your on "under the bonnet" tab. Then scroll down to Web Content (it will be in bold). Just click change font and language settings. Then under the language tab just sort it so it is English (United Kingdom) on the top part of languages you can have both English (US and UK) but just make sure to change spell check to English (United Kingdom).
