Netflix Stops at 98%

  • Everytime I try to play Netflix on my MacBook Air it will load until 98% and then stop loading, with no progress made in over an hour of waiting. I have tried, Chrome, Firefox and Safari, so I don't think it is a browser issue, and I can also play Netflix on my iPhone connected to the same network. I was wondering if anyone knew of a solution. I have the stock MacBook Air mid-2011 version with Lion if that helps. Any and all assistance would be appreciated.

  • Maybe try reinstalling Microsoft Silverlight?

  • Might be Silverlight, like the previous poster mentioned... have you tried calling / emailing Netflix?


  • I had the same problem: the solution for me was to right-click the red loading screen for Silverlight options, then check Hardware Accelerated Playback under the Playback tab.
