I have a Nexus 5 that will only charge if I plug it in just right, with a particular cable. If i just plug the cable in like normal it wont charge and will start smelling like burnt electronics. Is there any way to fix it or at least help it limp along until the new Nexus phones get announced later this year?
Sounds to me like your Micro usb port might be coming loose from the board. Depending on your level of comfort you can pull it apart and re-solder the port or replace the whole board.
Gotta love that iFixit.
I just watched that video, I forgot it has wireless charging, I am going to have to give that a try before i jump to replacing the usb for the next few months. Thanks for posting the video!
