I am for sure getting the phone next month when it comes out. I have said for many years that i cant stand the idea of just using a touch screen keyboard. Have gone from my Ocean to the Moment just because of that. But all of the cool things that are packed into this phone is just fantastic. And the screen is big enough i think ill get more used to the touch screen as is. That and the price. 200 bucks! Not a bad deal at all. The 10 extra bucks a month is less then i said id pay for the extra 4g service.
Just hope that it as good as it looks on paper, and from the early hands on videos out there!

No, Verizon is about the only carrier that works in my area.

Probably, unless the Iphone comes out for verizon within the next year.  I probably won't get a new phone for about a year or so.  It might be old technology by then!  who knows?

\@Skytylz:  LoL yeah course it will be old tech in a year. Next year phones will be like MAGs in PSO. Just follow you around and give you power ups!

I'm not on Sprint and have no reason to switch.  I'm far more interested in the Windows Phone 7 OS as a whole than just one Android phone.

I live in the UK, so even if I wanted to (which I do), I can't.

I need to pay off a couple bills but after that I'll be rocking my Evo wanting to connect it to hdtvs throughout America for no reason.

Any word it they're releasing a 3G version of the EVO hardware?

We're not going to get a 4G network for a very long time, as the owners of the 3G licence still need to earn back the £22bn they paid to our government.

@Zaph:
 wow thats a fair chunk of change to owe :0
I have not seen anything about a 3g only version. But i dont see why you could not buy one and just use it with out the 4g. Just wont be able to use the wifi, or things like video skype. Believe thats 4g only. You should call and ask about that.

@Gonmog:  I could do that, but would require buying a sim-free phone from Ebay or similar (which are currently going for $800+).

Hopefully HTC will announce a phone with similar hardware (but lacking 4G) soon for Europe...

@Zaph: Yeah that may be a bit much... do you guys get the  droid incredible there through VZ? Sorry not to sure of the services you have. That phone is very close to the Evo.

@Gonmog: That's a negative. HTC said (via Twitter of all places) that the Incredible isn't coming to the UK.

Honestly, they better put something for Europe on their roadmap soon because before long the iPhone4 will be making waves. Currently there is nothing even close to the hardware specs of the iPhone4 available here.

You can't buy a sim-free Evo or Incredible off of eBay, they are CDMA phones and they don't use sim cards. That's why they aren't seeing a European release.
