I need to replace my 5+ year old desktop monitor. I only have space for a 20" on my desk. Should look for 1920 x 1080 resolution or settle for 1600 x 900 or even less. I have a Geforce GT 240 and can't upgrade my video card at the moment. The only games that I'll play on it are Starrcraft II, Tropico 4, Torchlight 1+2, Civ 5, Terraria.
Is 1080p asking too much of my '09 mid-range card or is it simple enough to scale down resolution? Am I crazy and I should be looking at 1366 x 768? Thanks for your time.

I would go for a 1080p display, but it's not an option at 20 inches. Don't go for 768p, not good enough.
1600x900 is good for that screen size. I would go with that.
