As someone who rarely reads what updates actually do I might have missed something here, but does OSX Snow Leopard not work correctly on the new Retina screen Mac Book Pro´s?
Most of the OS non-app related icons and text look really pixellated and awful on the screen, and stands in contrast to the smooth appearance of the rest e.g. Safari, which is still smooth.
@Hendrixx: Yeah, I imagine MBPr wouldn't be fully supported by anything older than Lion. Probably best not to retrofit if you want proper monitor support.
@Hendrixx: Snow Leopard is quite old in OS X terms and does not have support for the Retina display, since no Retina Macs existed when it was current. Why did you choose to install it, if I may ask?
Hey guys! Thanks for all your replies! It turs out I am a complete idiot and wrote the wrong OS in the Forum post. Really sorry about that. I upgraded to Mountain Lion, not Snow Leopard.

Any thoughts on this? Revert to Lion?

@Hendrixx: Didn't you get a free upgrade to Mountain Lion when you bought that? Any particular reason you want to stay on Snow Leopard?

Yep: That's normal. Only Lion and Mountain Lion are supposed to support it.

Still have the same issue though.
