I'm planning out a huge upgrade to my battlestation. This upgrade will theoretically allow me to switch between my computer monitor and tv for PS3/PC/360 output, while running both the tv and monitor simultaneously. I basically want to be able to say "PC is on monitor and PS3 is on TV, I want to switch this" and not have to change any cables or sacrifice a screen.
Is there a device in existence that can do this? Can any regular multiple output HDMI capable receiver do this?
I would have googled it, but I don't know how to make this a coherent search for google. Trust me, I've tried.
Just a fair warning what your looking for is quite expensive. You basically are gonna need either a mix of splitters, or what might be easier is a HDMI KVM, either of these are gonna cost from 300$ up to thousands. Recommend you start here: http://www.kvmgalore.com/shopping/index.php
and see what you can find
I was going to say a KVM switch would work for this from what it sounds like.
@classicdms: Probably find something from monoprice http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?keyword=hdmi%20switch here that will do the trick. for under $300 perhaps significantly under.
Edit: actually if I am reading you right sounds like this would do the trick o.O http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011002&p_id=6416&seq=1&format=1#largeimage
and this is the more high end option of that http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011002&p_id=6415&seq=1&format=2
Just wanted to reply that what cripplecaptain posted will work. I didnt know monoprice had these in stock otherwise i would have recommended them as well. Awesome company to be sure
