I need your opinion guys!

I've been thinking about switching over to VLC from Divx. I like the slick interface DivX player provides but VLC player is just a lot more robust.

Please comment your reasoning below.

I don't really see the point to either third-party video player.  I primarily use Zune, but it doesn't allow you to add 3rd party Codecs, so I use WMP with the Shark codec pack.

Stay with VLC. The hardcore look and nature of codec support from VLC makes it look like it's always ready for business, which is all you really need from a video player.

VLC. It does everything.

VLC on my media center and KMPlayer on my netbook since I used special codecs to make use of the ION chipset.

VLC, if for no other reason that it plays everything.

Also, VLC is not bloated like other media players, and it can be as easy to use or as fine tuned as you want.  That said I still use WMP on occasion.  There is nothing really 'wrong' with WMP 11, except when it comes to compatibility.

Vlc it plays everything but I don't like it's interface at all, so I use Quicktime (I'm on mac) with some add ons to make it play everything as wel

Out of those three, VLC.  In general, Media Player Classic - Home Cinema + FFDShow.

VLC is nice if you don't want to deal with codecs.

VLC. Very light, very robust and as long as you do the organising in windows explorer, everything it needs to be.

For the longest time I used GOM. Great player and it looks nice, but eventually I started having issues and switched over to VLC. VLC is amazing and can do quite a few things that you might need one day. You can use it to stream to other players and to play almost everything. I think it's the best player around.

out of all of these, VLC, but I personally prefer GOM, it has almost as much codec support and the interface is much smoother.

This.  Especially if you have a lightweight (atom based) htpc.  This will allow you to offload the decoding to the gpu and bitstream dolby/dts audio to your receiver for decoding.
