I figured i'd give the tested weekly roundup idea a go. I'm not to sure what will be the best way to format it but i'll try and change it up throughout the week to see what is best so feel free to suggest any changes.
Limited formatting option makes this kinda hard i have to say.
Norm and Will continue their visit at the Modernist Cuisine laboratories (check out last week's tour of the lab with Maxime Billet) where they interview various staff members on the modernist cuisine techniques and get to taste several dishes.
Will def make this more difficult to do with limited formatting for threads. We can try and develop some kind of template? Can also try to incorporate a non tested location maybe to broaden the spectrum as well?
Eesh, no indention levels on lists? No H1 tags? Yeah, making a readable list is pretty tricky. Here's my attempt at hierarchy. Tried to be super concise, since it's for people trying to parse a week's worth of content.
@Rallier: yeah, I actually tried to keep the bold, to be honest. But that's apparently stripped out from UL elements. So.. uh.. hooray for happy accidents? Kind of weird how forced some of the formatting is on here.
@Conmused: @Rallier: I love the Conmused take. Subtle isn't a bad thing. I'm pretty sure we don't have a style in the stylesheet for h1s even, we definitely don't use them in stories.
Ideally, I'd like to get these to the point we can just bump them to the homepage. That will require a little work on the engineering side, but we should be able to start linking them using the short link format (which I hope to get in the next week or two). Until then, we'll push them on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+, and the fact that they exist will give us a biz case to do the work to promote blog posts to the homepage.
Personally, I'd like to see a section of stuff that's been passed around that *wasn't* featured on Tested each week. Neat links, cool videos, etc. I know we toss out of a lot of shit in IRC each day, surely we can come up with an interesting list of potentials for a section based solely on things not already featured on the Tested front page.
@RustySpoon: We could give it a go as well yeah. Although starting to compile links that we share in the irc next week only might be easier since it is already Tuesday.

Edit: @Rallier is awesome, and realized that you can use h3 tags.
@Conmused: that's a lot better already. Especially links not being bold when in a list helps a lot with readability.

I think if we could embed images we can fancy it up a bit too. But making a template with limited formatting makes it hard.

Great job! It can be really hard to catch up on a week if you missed out on it, so having a kind of round up is a really cool idea.

@Rallier: Someone should create a shared google doc to edit links with for potentials to make the list then we can decide what makes it?

While on the subject, Wesley Fenlon also wrote an article this week on extreme dishes and how dangerous they actually are.
