I saw a Ruben's tube a long time ago in Make magazine and wanted to build it but never got around to it. My buddy recently turned 30 so I built him one, and it was really fun to make. Mixing fire with sound is always cool and I was surprised at how low of a temperature the metal ran. I guess the constant flow of propane acts as a really good coolant.
I don't think I can link pictures from my phone but here's the URL for anyone curious.

Does code count for building? I haven't the space to construct anything physical, plus I've just taught myself a fair bit of javascript and jquery.
With today's influx of spam on tested, I'm considering "making" a mute filter. Something that takes the title attribute of a thread, and either dims or removes it from displaying. It'd force me to learn how to deal with databases too, I guess. Since that info has to be stored somewhere.
After listening to the podcasts and what Adam has to say, I find myself wanting to build.
I have a love for shields, and I think of how easy it would be to make a replica shield... no moving parts!
I want to make a Bulwark of Azzinoth, a shield from World of Warcraft. Someone made a replica years ago, and I have always wanted one of my own.
I figure cutting and heating up a plastic barrel of some sort could suffice, and make the spikes out of foam or cardboard, it's totally doable.
What things have you gotten the urge to make?

On my list would have to be a put a new PC together if that would count?
