I was thinking about buying a PS3 slim and sticking an SSD inside it. I was eyeing a Mushkin SSD (240GB), the one topping the list at Benchmark (link). I googled the drive with "PS3" and got nothing in return. So I ask thee, Tested: do you think this drive is compatible with PS3s?
Certainly. Any 2.5" drive should fit fine in the PS3. A quick Google search revealed that PS3s have no problems with SSDs, although the actual performance... well... YMMV.
I can't imagine why one wouldn't work. However, I would stay away from them mostly because of the PS3's lack of TRIM support and all those SandForce issues. If you're looking to replace the drive in your PS3 I highly recommend a Western Digital Scorpio.
