How long does the coffee keep after you brew it?  Do you have to keep it in an air tight container?  Does it get "stale"?

Hm. "FK" in the coffee...

I've never liked coffee and I bet I never will. The various processes that can be used to make it though I find fascinating.

@jimmdogg:  ye, if you've ever left a standard filter coffee brewer for too long...Well I'm guessing we all know what happens. I Probably wouldn't drink that after a week

This, my friends, is coffee porn. Even better than food porn. The only thing holding these videos back is that Will Smith isn't as appealing (to me) as, say, Nigella Lawson. Nothing personal. I just don't think you'd fill out a dress as nicely.

Reading up on this brewing method on other sites, I found that you don't need to put it in the fridge to steep. It'll steep just fine at room temperature, but the concentrate needs to be refrigerated once it's done. Then, it'll keep for about two weeks. It seems like a very convenient way to make coffee as you only have to do all the prep work and clean-up once to make a whole batch of concentrate.

I'm tempted to try this out, but I think I'll wait for a chance to try some coffee made this way before I buy the equipment. Coffee made this way is supposedly less acidic, which my innards would appreciate, but I'm slightly worried about the body. Also, it's supposed to contain less caffeine, which would most likely mean I'd end up drinking more coffee. ;-P

@RickJames(bitch?) I know what you are saying, but Will mentions in the review that one pot lasts him 2 weeks.  How?!

Great video Will. I'm curious about how the flavour of the Toddy coffee compares to aeropress (or other) coffee - did it taste noticably smoother and acid-free? I'm currently using an aeropress, which I'm very happy with, but I like the idea of making a batch of coffee for the week.

Exactly this.

And hey JJ, I've seen you somewhere before.

Bucket with hole, filter.  Got it.

Seriously though this is something I am happy to see explained well, I've often wanted to make cold coffee but never really bothered to learn.

Will it would be great if you graded the product! I use a nespresso how will it compare to the Aeropress or the Toddy coffee? I really want to know!

My presence is ubiquitous.

Never actually tried coffee, but I like the smell. Is that weird?

I gave up coffee last year and almost died in the process (I seriously got really ill when I tried going cold turkey) but these videos almost makes me want to start drinking it again just so I can play around with all the cool brewing methods.

These videos make me sad that I am mostly making do with canned coffees, as I do not have access to any of my coffee-making paraphernalia here.  It was too much for the luggage, but I was tempted.

Will Smith - you are crazy, Sir.

Having a book on biochemistry an arm length away from me, knowing one or two things about coffee - I lived in Hamburg, saw some of the biggest coffee maker facilities in Europe (Hamburg port houses the big coffee makers; they import the coffee beans and buy, sell, process it for almost all of Europe.) - I am still trying to figure out the benefits from a non-healthy, hedonistic, consumer point of view.

I would even argue that tannic acid is healthy, even good for your skin and I also like the bitterness of coffee. I drink coffee hot and black - without anything in it. Acid stomach problems? If you eat/drink too much of anything - sure.

Moderate consumption - as always. You should neither put sugar or milk in your wine, or ice-cubes in your 24 year old scotch - maybe I'm old fashioned. I don't argue, that it is not a good thing - I just don't see it working for me.

Last thing - you can have the best coffee blend in the world; if you brew/mix it with shitty tap water from your local dump, it's gonna be bleh no matter what?! Always use good water and your expensive Italian Arabica blend will be fine.

A professional coffee tester once told me: if the coffee is really good, it will taste cold as well. He meant a traditional brew of course.

Finally, we get to see the cold coffee results Will has been talking about for weeks.

That's one drawback of Tested and tech news in general.  Like, I want to know how the Vibrams are.  If Vibrams were a video game a review would be up in a few days.  They are testing them for a month for thoroughness.

Another cool bit not devoted to things electronic. I would love to have a Will Smith cooking show.

My favorite coffee to use with my Toddy is Coconut Coffee from Porto Rico in NYC. It makes the best latte's.

I use a pound at a time though, as per the instructions that come with the Toddy.

That big jar of cold brew made me wonder why coffee places haven't put them on display, ready-made for customers to buy.

Cool vid. Too much hassle to me; besides, I my fridge really has that kind of open space available.
